Dr. Andrew Royappa, CTO and Managing Director

Andrew’s deep background in computer science includes experience in academics as well as the “real world” side of business programming and client services. Before co-founding SpiralFX, Andrew was Chairman of the Department of Computer Science at Millsaps College. Andrew received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Purdue University in 1992.

Andrew enjoys technology challenges, from detailed business analysis of a client's technology problem, to occasionally getting his hands dirty helping staff programmers with sticky problem. He originally developed SpiralFX’s proprietary Update Wizard content management system in 2001, and recently did the core programming for our www.UltimateEliminator.com partner. He sometimes even programs for fun, as a highly ranked U.S. competitor in topcoder.com contests.

Vanessa Siegal, COO and Managing Director

By the time she co-founded SpiralFX, Vanessa had over 15 years of experience in business development and project management, with an emphasis on the IT industry. She now has a 25-year-plus track record of successfully providing business solutions for her clients. Vanessa’s specialty is helping companies use their web sites or technology to overcome business problems and achieve their objectives.

Vanessa, who holds a degree in Computer Science from Millsaps College, is also adept at raising Italian greyhounds and whippets. Her love of animals inspired Vanessa to create PreciousPetServices.com, a directory website that lets people find services and products for their beloved pets.

Justin Siegal, Project Manager

In his leadership position as Project Manager, Justin relies on an array of skills, combining his vast technical savvy with a natural talent for organization and attention to detail. His abilities have been satisfying SpiralFX clients since 2001, when Justin joined the company after studying Computer Science in college.

Justin’s passion for computers began at a young age: he admits he was fascinated about learning to make a program do exactly what he wanted it to. Today he applies that motivation to SpiralFX challenges, always taking the extra step to make sure every client’s program is as comprehensive, efficient, and user-friendly as possible.

Justin often oversees several projects and staffs of programmers at the same time, adeptly juggling deadlines and priorities without missing a beat. “I’m a perfectionist,” he says, “and I love what we do.” In addition to his management responsibilities, Justin develops reports and still does programming – which he calls his first love. In his spare time, he is also an avid gamer.
